Dear Students,
Nursing is a professional healthcare discipline that aims to find holistic and compassionate solutions to the current and potential health problems and needs of individuals, families, and communities based on scientific knowledge. A nurse is a member of the healthcare team who has the authority to plan, implement, and evaluate the necessary care for raising the level of health, preventing diseases, and providing care and rehabilitation processes in case of illness throughout the lifespan of an individual, from conception to the end of life. In addition to the roles of "providing care" and "participating in the treatment plan," nurses also have roles such as "creating a safe and healthy environment," "education," "counseling," "research," "management," "quality improvement," "collaboration," and "facilitating communication."
As societal changes occur day by day, the increase and diversification of health problems require changes and advancements in nursing care. Nowadays, the resolution of health problems relies on evidence-based nursing care and the collaboration of nurses who can work within a team. Nursing care should be provided in a way that respects human dignity, values individuals, and ensures safety.
As the Nursing Department, our aim in education is to train nurses who are active members of the healthcare team at the national and international levels, who are aware of their professional values and follow the necessary current changes in their field, who educate themselves according to new conditions, think critically in line with scientific approaches, have developed problem-solving skills, adhere to professional ethical principles, perform their professional duties in the best possible way, and provide healthcare services in a proactive and responsive manner in all areas required by the community.
Graduates who successfully complete our program can work as nurses in public and private healthcare institutions providing preventive and curative health services, hospitals, outpatient diagnostic and treatment centers, schools, occupational health units, home care service organizations, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers as clinicians, managers, and educators. Furthermore, after graduation, they can participate in postgraduate education programs to obtain expertise and doctoral degrees and work as academics at universities.
At our school, where we act with the consciousness of being beneficial to society, we await you with a strong, experienced, and dedicated academic staff.
With love and respect,
